The incubation temperature requirements for most hatching eggs is surprisingly uniform.If the incubator used has a fan for air circulation, the temperature must be adjusted to 99-100o F. An incubator without an air circulation system requires a higher temperature.

Quail chicks are delicate and require precise temperature control for their well-being. During the first week, maintain a brooder temperature of around 95F (35C). Gradually reduce the temperature by 5F (2.8C) each week until reaching the ambient temperature.

If the temperature is appropriate, the chicks will be lively, have good appetite, drink moderate water, sleep well with evenly distributed sleep positions. If the temperature is too low, the chicks will be close to the heat source, which is easy to cause dysentery, trample and death.

As the quail chicks grow, their heat requirements decrease. You can gradually reduce the temperature by 5 degrees Fahrenheit (2 to 3 degrees Celsius) each week, until they are fully feathered and able to regulate their own body temperature.
